SALARY: $24/hour.

SHIFT: Two Weeks rotation: morning and afternoon.

On-site in North York.

Mon
- Fri. Morning shift: 6 am to 2.30 pm

Mon
- Fri. Afternoon Shift: 2.30 pm to 10.30 pm

Mill Street Brewery is a leading craft brewer with a portfolio of over 70 unique and innovative beers. Founded in 2002 in Toronto, it is today the largest brewer of certified organic beer in Canada and produces some of the country’s most environmentally responsible beers.

ROLE SUMMARY:
Responsible for the day to day analytical testing of our products

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform routine analytical tests on beer through all stages of the brewing process.
- Perform on-line packaging quality tests for kegs, bottles and cans.
- Perform shelf-life tests on packaged beer.
- Perform tests to evaluate and monitor yeast heath.
- Perform necessary microbiological sampling.
- Participate in sensory evaluation of beer.
- Data analysis of all quality results.
- Identify problem areas and contribute to problem-solving with brewing, packaging and maintenance.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or Food Science is required.
- Brewery experience is preferred.
- Food and/or Beverage experience is an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Sensory training and experience is a plus.
- Strong microbiology skills are desired.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Excellent communication skills.S
