Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) is a health service that provides a safe and supportive environment for people to consume pre-obtained substances under medical supervision. In addition to supervised consumption, individuals are provided with sterile harm reduction supplies, education on safer substance use/overdose prevention, medical monitoring post-consumption, medical assessment, counselling, and connections to primary care, addiction treatment, mental health support and other services.

**PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES**

Work directly in the consumption area and establish rapport with clients in order to:

- Supervise consumption
- Intervene in emergency situations.
- Triage client health needs
- Provide harm reduction education regarding safer substance use
- Ensure access to harm reduction supplies
- Monitor for signs of drug overdose or anaphylaxis
- Provide referrals to address health, addiction/mental health and social needs as needed
- Support referrals to RN and other medical professionals
- Document client charts if necessary
