To provide cardiac and vascular sonography services to the Kingston Heart Clinic. A 120-day probationary period is standard practice.

**Duties**:

- Performs full adult 2D and Doppler diagnostic sonography and carotid and peripheral arterial Doppler examination in a professional and confidential manner.
- Responsible for maintaining daily flow of patients. The sonographer should remain within the allotted time allowed for each test to maintain this flow.
- Prepares patients for testing and explain testing procedures.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while in sonographer’s care.
- Addresses problems of patient care as they arise and make decisions to appropriately resolve the problem.
- Inputting of data into Cerebrum correctly is of utmost importance and must be strictly adhered to.
- Information on requisitions must be referred to when inputting data to avoid errors.
- Creates preliminary reports in Cerebrum including performing measurements, pathology and other findings.
- Uses independent judgement during the sonographic examination to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, and report abnormal findings to covering physician for assessment.
- Transfer all studies to ECHOPAC.
- Instructs and monitors student sonographers as assigned.
- Stocking of testing rooms with supplies as necessary
- Maintaining of equipment and notifying Office Manager when equipment failure or servicing is necessary.
- Ensures that professional registration is up-to-date, and a copy given to Office Manager yearly.
- Attend educational training as provided.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Job complexities**:

- Confidentiality must be always maintained, and results of testing must never be discussed with patients.
- Must maintain a calm, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance at all times when dealing with both patients and staff.

After probationary period (4 months) rate increases to $52.00 plus the 4%.
After 4 months, employee eligible for benefits

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $38.95-$45.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

COVID-19 considerations:
All patients required to wear masks, be COVID screen, have their temperatures taken. All staff must wear PPE (provided).

Licence/Certification:

- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (preferred)
