Maintenance Coordinator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Coordinator to join our team.
The maintenance person is responsible for all internal and external routine repairs and minor maintenance of the residence.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have skills and knowledge to carry out minor repairs to Residence and equipment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, carpentry and plumbing.
- Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform the necessary physical duties including movement of heavy objects.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to deal with Residents and staff.
- Previous experience in a Retirement Residence or Long Term Care setting is an asset.
- Must be available to respond to emergency situations on the occasional evening or weekend outside regular hours of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To execute routine repairs and carry out minor maintenance operations to electrical, mechanical, plumbing and building equipment.
- To paint, perform minor carpentry and maintain exterior grounds as required (exception: services performed under contract ie: snow removal)
- To regularly inspect the entire premises from a maintenance and safety standpoint, and report to the General Manager.
- To adhere to established facility policies and procedures including safety rules and safe working practices.
- To conduct heavy cleaning duties as required (ie: carpet cleaning)
- To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it.
- To attend staff meetings as required.
- To complete all other tasks as assigned.
Pay: From $18.87 per hour
Expected hours: 75 - 80 per week
