St. George’s Golf and Country Club is an 18 hole private golf club located in Toronto’s West End. The Green’s Department is seeking a Full-Time Seasonal Horticulturist to join our team for the 2023 season.

Reporting directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, the Horticulturist is primarily responsible for the planting, growing and maintenance of all flowers, shrubs, small trees and clubhouse lawns on the property.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

- Assist in the design and selection of plant materials for ornamental use on and around the golf course, clubhouse and other buildings
- Trim and prune hedges and shrubbery
- Instruct, supervise and ensure safe use of equipment to any employee assigned under your direction
- Ensure the clubhouse grounds are tidy and clear of debris before members and guests arrive to the property, and throughout the day as necessary
- Maintain and operate all horticultural equipment in a safe and responsible manner

**Qualifications**
- Knowledge of planting, growth habit and upkeep of a wide selection of annual and perennial plants
- Knowledge of the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and pest control methods and materials
- Ability to prioritize work schedules to meet the plant’s needs and functions held at the club
- Ability to supervise and train those who are assigned to work with you
- Ability to follow safe work practices as outlined by the OHSA and club policies
- Experience operating mowing equipment considered an asset, but not required

**Compensation**
- Full-time hours from June to December, 6 days and 44 hours per week
- Hourly pay commensurate with experience
- St. George’s staff events and activities
- Uniform provided
- Free staff parking on site
