The Winnipeg Folk Festival is a year-round, not-for-profit arts organization with one of North America’s premier outdoor music festivals as its signature event.

The Winnipeg Folk Festival is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to support our Production team, who are responsible for the planning, setup, operation, and tear down of the festival and its two campgrounds. The festival site is in Birds Hill Provincial Park outside of Winnipeg. Each summer we build infrastructure to support a community of thousands of attendees spanning 200 acres.

The Production department connects with all areas of the festival, with a focus on health and safety, traffic and transportation, campgrounds, vendors, and environmental initiatives. The Production Associate will be accountable for administrative and operational aspects of several portfolios in the Production department. As you gain experience there will be opportunities to specialize and take a leadership role in specific areas.

**Specific Areas of Responsibility**:
**Operational Planning**
- Support Production Department in the planning of festival operations.
- Conduct research and development for new initiatives and programs.
- Consult with area leads and stakeholders to review and analyze departmental plans.
- Source materials and quotes, purchase supplies.
- Customize digital event management platforms to meet department needs.

**Operational Implementation**
- Support volunteer crews and partners to facilitate equipment, supplies and signage needs.
- Facilitate setup, operation and cleanup of the festival site and campgrounds.
- Assist with invoice tracking.
- Support inventory management of festival-owned and rental equipment.
- Oversee post-festival supply return, inventory and storage.
- Play a support role in any required emergency response.

**Volunteer Training**
- Support development of written, visual, and digital training materials with a focus on Safety, Traffic and Wellness teams.
- Develop and update of training plans and procedure manuals.
- Assist with tracking of completed training by volunteers.

**Contractor Support**
- Provide administrative support for hiring extended team of approximately 100 seasonal contract staff.
- Assist with credential management and distribution for department.
- Liaise with crafters, food vendors, art program participants and other partners regarding operational details including contract fulfillment.

**Qualifications & Assets**
- Production experience for other festivals, films & television and/or major public events.
- Experience with event management databases an asset
- Comfortable working on Mac and PC, Office 365, and SharePoint
- Organizational skills, attention to detail
- Creative and resourceful problem solver
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and with a wide variety of colleagues, suppliers, vendors, and volunteers
- Experience as an attendee or volunteer at the festival an asset
- Valid Manitoba driver’s license

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
