Aquatic Program Coordinator

The Aquatic Coordinator oversees the swim lesson program and instructors to ensure all lessons are executed enthusiastically, safely, and securely within the guidelines. The Aquatic Coordinator also teaches private and semi-private lessons as needed.

**Compensation / Hours of Work**:$27-$31 Per Hour, 30-44 Hours Per Week

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supervise staff, aquatic staff and instructors and volunteer staff
- Create, implement, and manage swim instructors’ schedules
- Assist with the technical training and professionalism of the aquatic staff.
- Provide expert advice and consulting services in the design, development and administration of aquatic programs and activities
- Update and maintain training manuals and assist with creation and updating policies and procedures
- Oversee swim lessons, assist in the development of an action plan to ensure these are dealt with in a timely manner
- Ensure a safe aquatic facility for the public; supervise pool patrons, enforce all rules
- Review and submit payroll reports, as assigned
- Work under pressure, Fast-paced environment, physically demanding
- Set up and coordinate activities with facilities staff as required
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers, coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques

**EDUCATION / CERTICATION**
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Business administration, management, and operations, other
- Current National Lifeguard Service (NL) certification (Lifesaving Society)
- Current CPR/AED and First-Aid
- Competitive swim experience

**REQUIREMENTS**
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a coordinator/programming or supervisory role in a swimming or aquatic coach position
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills
- Ability to multi-task and be well organized
- Able to deal with conflict diplomatically and in a calm manner.
- A good sense of levels of urgency, ability to think clearly while handling multiple priorities in emergency situations.
- Physically able to teach lessons to participants of all ages
- Must be able to prepare course curriculum that is appropriate for designated class
- Positive, effective, calm, and professional communication verbally and written with staff, members, children, and parents tailoring the communication style to the appropriate audience
- Must possess outstanding customer service skills
- Clear criminal record check
- Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Immunization records

**Salary**: $31.00 per hour
