**Position Overview**:
The Mobile Outreach Worker supports the City’s Outreach programming by providing accessible diversion services to mitigate the impacts of complex-social issues that can sometimes result in street-level social disorder. This generalist outreach position may work with individuals of all ages who are living without shelter, struggling with personal well-being (including mental health, addictions, or other challenges), or are experiencing other life circumstances that would result in desired support. The highly adaptable and collaborative Community Outreach Worker uses their strong interpersonal skills to establish professional relationships with residents and service providers, provides system navigation support, demonstrates diplomatic advocacy, and works from a strengths-based, human-centred approach. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. This position reports to the Supervisor of Outreach Programming.

This position is Temporary Full Time until March 2026

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide Direct Resident Support- Work from various locations, including within the community or at designated satellite locations for services.
- Provide point-in-time information, support, advocacy, and connection of services to residents experiencing various complex social issues.
- Engage and communicate with residents following a human-centred, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive philosophy.
- Build professional relationships with residents and establish and maintain professional boundaries.
- Provide mentorship and coaching for residents to self-advocate, negotiate, and access supports, including medical, social, mental health, financial and housing.
- Maintain timely and accurate client records per applicable standards, policies, and regulations using the City's identified data management system.
- Provide open communication and active engagement with fellow staff to ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
- Follow appropriate policies, procedures, and processes when dealing with crises.
- Report all health and safety incidents and near misses as required promptly.
- Monitor potential safety concerns and follow City procedures to address safety-related incidents.
- Support safe, inclusive, and healthy services and supports for residents by following relevant procedures.

Build Professional Network Relations- Build relationships with community agencies, businesses, and organizations to increase program capacity to support residents in obtaining needed resources.
- Maintain a professional network of support to aid the collaborative delivery of programs and services specific to persons served.

Build Strong Community Relations- Provide positive point-in-time responses to community enquiries, feedback, and complaints.
- Ensure community feedback and complaints are shared promptly with reporting supervisor and/or other City representatives as directed.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services field
- ASIST
- De-escalating Potentially Violent Situations
- Naloxone Training
- Mental Health First Aid
