Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Pharmacy Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support the efficient operation of the pharmacy by providing exceptional customer service and performing various administrative and technical tasks. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of our pharmacy and enhancing the overall patient experience.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients in a courteous and professional manner, answering their queries, and directing them to the appropriate staff members for further assistance.

2. Prescription Processing: Assist pharmacists in receiving, processing, and verifying prescription orders accurately and efficiently. This includes entering prescription details into the computer system, labeling medications, and organizing prescriptions for dispensing.

3. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by monitoring stock levels, checking for expired medications, and placing orders for pharmaceutical supplies under the guidance of the pharmacist.

4. Medication Dispensing: Prepare and dispense medications as per prescription orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal and safety guidelines. This may involve counting, measuring, and packaging medications.

5. Medication Information: Provide basic medication information to patients, including dosage instructions, possible side effects, and storage recommendations, while emphasizing the importance of consulting with a pharmacist or healthcare professional for comprehensive advice.

6. Billing and Cash Handling: Process customer payments accurately, maintain cash registers, and handle insurance claims, adhering to established protocols and privacy regulations.

7. Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks, such as maintaining patient records, filing documents, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing inventory systems.

8. Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all pharmacy regulations, standards, and protocols to ensure compliance with legal and safety guidelines. This includes maintaining confidentiality of patient information and following proper procedures for medication handling and storage.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy technician program or relevant certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role (1-2 years) or in a customer service-oriented environment is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in prescription processing and inventory management.
- Familiarity with pharmacy computer systems and software for prescription processing (Specifically Kroll).
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology, pharmaceutical products, and common prescription medications.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and multitask efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Understanding of confidentiality regulations and commitment to patient privacy.

**Salary**: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
