- Lead and direct the Maintenance Department, including managing all Maintenance personnel.
- Adhere to all EHS Policies/Procedures, perform all work and insure all work performed by direct deports in department are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner
- Serve as a point of contact with PMC’s and Operations and Engineering departments regarding plant maintenance.
- Provide support to contract maintenance that promotes a “Team” work concept interactively within the maintenance and operations groups.
- Coordinate with contract maintenance to insure the management and execution of capital projects in a safe and high quality manner with cost effective results.

B. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing and Directing Maintenance Process 80%
- Oversee Preventive Maintenance compliance and effectiveness to drive reliability improvement.
- Lead efforts and provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and identifying problems and providing resolutions, designing, installing, and maintaining plant equipment and identifying, managing and prioritizing capital projects in a cost effective manner.
- Direct personnel, performance management, discipline, manpower scheduling, and work flow.
- Supervise all outside contractor activities, including reviewing bids and negotiating contracts.
- Support capital budget process by reviewing contractor costs through tracking spending and reporting results against budget.
- Assist with coordinating the development of tools required to support and allow contract maintenance work force to work more smoothly on site.
- Serve as a liaison to contract maintenance.
- Coordinate with contract maintenance in support of Operations’ needs to insure timeline schedules of material, equipment and resources are available.
- Improve work practices and procedures to reduce costs.
- Monitor/control hourly personnel work for safety, quality and efficiency.
- Insure the development of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
- Develop plans and execute all major repairs, unit outages and turnarounds, and monitor and track costs and spending.
- Foster a productive and open communication and promote a partnering relationship between Maintenance and the Operations and Engineering Departments.

Manage PMC’s/Coordinate roles with Operations and Maintenance 20%
- Supervise PMC personnel including, leading and directing, performance management, discipline activities, manpower scheduling and work flow.
- Provide technical support to production and maintenance areas.
- Insure all work orders are coordinated through PMC’s and all work is accounted for and performed in a timely manner as is available through scheduling with Production areas.

1. Work Experience

(Describe the minimum experience required for satisfactory performance of the job.)
- Minimum 10 - 15 years in chemical manufacturing environment; Prior experience as mechanical Engineer preferred; Management experience leading maintenance team required.
- Must have knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards for PSM and RMP compliance.
- Must have a strong mechanical, electrical and/or instrumentation background.
- Must have knowledge of plant processes, utilities and site infrastructure.
- Must be able to interact with engineering and production personnel.
- Must have good organization and communication skills.
- Strong technical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literacy, specifically MS Excel and SAP.
- Solid mathematical background.
- Able to work and deliver on deadlines and to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively; detail-oriented; acts with a sense of urgency.
- Working knowledge of batch and continuous chemical process operations
- Experience working in a continuously changing environment and long hours.
- Familiarity with regulations and ability to interpret and educate others.
- Strong leadership, directing, partnering and influencing
