**Manager, Treasury Controls & Reporting**

The Corporate Treasury Team has responsibility for the group treasury function at Sun Life.
Reporting to the Director, Treasury Controls & Reporting, the Manager, Treasury Controls & Reporting will primarily manage the treasury accounting functions for North American Treasury, with emphasis on ensuring the integrity of the cash accounting and its impact to financial reporting. The role is also responsible for leading a broad array of constantly evolving internal controls and banking project initiatives within the treasury area.
Given the size and scope of our organization, there is flexibility in the location of this position; including the option to work primarily remotely.
**Responsibilities**
- Ensure that Treasury accounting accurately reflects the cash position of the company and that effective controls are in place.
- Monitor Treasury owned G/L accounts and feeds. Ensure that any reconciling items/errors are investigated and addressed in a timely manner.
- Support preparation and review of various reconciliations and financial reporting templates for Treasury owned G/L accounts.
- Review and approve manual journal entries prepared by Treasury Analysts including providing expertise for specialized accounting entries.
- Support various Treasury and Business Partner led projects, including performing testing over changes, raising issues to project teams, and providing updates on status.
- Interact with business partners at all levels of the organization and external partners (banks, vendors, auditors etc.).
**Qualifications**
- 6+ years of treasury/finance related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Processional accounting designation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls.
- Ability to lead change management with banking processes, stakeholders, and technology.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and handle multiple projects and priorities.
**Preferred skills**
- Strong leadership and decision making skills.
- Clear and concise written and oral communication.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, to manage challenging situations productively and positively.
- Computer proficiency, including at least an intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel. Experience working in SAP and/or Oracle is considered an asset.
