**Job Description**:
Recognition of prior learning and competencies (RAC) is a process that allows adults to obtain official academic recognition of their work experience. The process of recognition of prior learning follows specific procedures governed by the Ministère d’education superieur (MES).

REPORTING TO THE MANAGER OF OPERATIONS OF THE CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION & RAC, THE COORDINATOR OF RAC (RECOGNITION OF AQUIRED COMPETENCIES) IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ASPECTS TO DEVELOP, COORDINATE AND EXECUTE THE RAC SERVICES AT JOHN ABBOTT COLLEGE:

- Coordinate and consistently improve the delivery of current RAC services
- Expand the portfolio of RAC services, in particular in Pharmacy and IT
- Make recommendations for the implementation and increase of RAC services, virtually and on-site
- Assure compliance of all RAC procedures with Ministerial and College policies and procedures.
- Assure compliance and consistently improve the quality control mechanism
- In consultation with external stakeholders, such as the CERACS (Les Centres d’expertise en reconnaissance des acquis et des competences), develop and implement best practices in RAC
- Coordinate the development and optimize prior learning assessment tools
- Develop, train and maintain a network of content specialists in the College's target areas
- Coordinate the adaptation of competency assessment and validation tools
- Maintain information on research, changes, and innovations in the field of RAC and monitors current trends.
- Update and develop all required documentation relating to RAC
- Monitor the RAC budget and provides projections
- Other related tasks as required by the supervisor

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Education is preferred or appropriate area of specialization, particularly in education or education science

Specific Requirements:

- At least two (2) years of relevant experience
- Proven track record of establishing complex administrative procedures and processes
- Thorough knowledge of post-secondary education and the Quebec college system,

with a particular understanding of evaluating the achievement of academic competencies
- Clear understanding of the reality of adult learners currently employed in the labor market
- Comfortable working with digital tools
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate teams
- Comfortable in mediation and conflict resolution
- Proven track record to deal with a variety of people of different backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and self-directed, virtually and on-site
- Thoroughness, analytical skills and diplomacy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English

Testing may be required to demonstrate knowledge of:

- English (intermediate oral, comprehension and written)
- French (advanced oral, comprehension and intermediate written)
- Excel (intermediate)
