**About Our Opportunity**:
As the Labour Relations Financial Advisor, you are the financial expert on the labour environment funded by the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW), Department of Seniors and Long-Term Care, Office of Additions and Mental Health, and the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment for the Nova Scotia healthcare system. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining an information system of all financial aspects of health sector labour relations, i.e. wage and salary expenses, FTE counts, and breaking down labour pieces by discipline, union, and provider.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
You will work closely with Finance & Treasury Board (FTB) staff to cost out potential union settlements prior to, and during, negotiations. You will coordinate all activities with regard to the FTB restructuring fund. You will bring together financial information within, and outside, the DHW on roughly $2.56 billion dollars in healthcare labour costs. You will work closely with FTB staff, Treasury Board Office (TBO), and other client department staff for funding analysis of the wage settlements for the entire healthcare sector and impact to the Department's budgets.

As the Labour Relations Financial Advisor, you will report to the Manager, Financial Accounting.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a bachelor’s degree with five years related experience, or an acceptable combination of training and experience.

You possess a strong ability to understand and financially analyze complex documents, contracts and agreements with a demonstrated ability to construct and modify complex financial costing models. You have above average spreadsheet skills, excellent writing, presentation and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under tight deadline pressures with competing priorities.

While not required, it is considered an asset if you have, or are currently working towards, a professional accounting designation.

Leadership competencies required at this level of work are: Conceptual Thinking, Strategic Orientation, Outcome Focus, Initiative, Effective Interactive Communication, Partnering and Relationship Building, and Intercultural and Diversity Proficiency.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.
