**General Labourer**

**Position Summary**

This position will assist our facilities department in completing a variety of projects. This position is responsible for general maintenance assignments, as well as assisting the facility maintenance staff, when necessary, with day-to-day equipment and facilities repairs. The duties will include general construction and clean-up.

**Responsibilities**
- Work as part of the maintenance team to complete assigned tasks.
- Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (gowning, etc.) as per SOP Proper Protective Equipment and SOP Employee Health Hygiene
- Perform minor repairs such as replacing bulbs and ballasts in light fixtures, repairing leaking sinks and toilets, carpentry, drywall, painting, etc.
- Perform indoor and outdoor general building maintenance and cleaning.
- Move equipment such as furniture and equipment as directed by using hand trucks and other tools and follow safety guidelines pertaining to lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records pertaining to repairs and cleaning schedules.
- Perform drywall hanging and finishing.
- Attend any training session designated by the Company.
- Other duties may be assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Carpentry experience preferred.
- Framing experience - both wood and steel preferred.
- Must be able to read and follow blueprints.
- Experience in a skilled trade is an asset.
- Construction experience required.
- Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently or with a team.
- Commitment to health and safety rules
