**Role purpose**

Working closely with the Controller and VP Finance, you will research and analyze financial information to help the company make well-informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements.

**Responsibilities**

The following is not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive; other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Daily, weekly and monthly analysis of PPV and Manufacturing variances vs. standard cost
- Participate in periodic physical inventory counts, coordinating with the operations department, providing administrative support, and performing variance analysis.
- Support monthly and annual close processes by recording information such as accrual, deferral, reclass, and interdepartmental entries into the company’s accounting ledger.
- Reconcile accounts with the general ledger to make sure that all entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with accounting standards (ASPE).
- Timely preparation and submission of all the bank covenants, the Canadian Dairy Commission (CDC) reconciliations, and tax filing.
- Prepare quarterly broker commissions & rebates reconciliation and investigate discrepancies as necessary.
- Perform monthly inventory reconciliations, roll up standard costs and review inventory adjustments.
- Assist in creating insightful Business Intelligence (BI) reports to monitor and highlight contributing factors to financial, sales and operational functions.
- Provide influence, guidance and collaborate closely with various departments to design BI & Analytic solutions.
- Assist plant production planning and plant operations management in evaluating cost effective solutions related to operational efficiencies.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

In order to qualify for this role, you will have relevant experience in CPG manufacturing and have or working toward obtaining a CPA designation.

You will also possess:

- Understanding of Microsoft Power BI or other business intelligence software is an asset.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 Business Central or MS Dynamics Navision is an asset.
- Completion or in progress professional designation (CPA).
- Demonstrated advanced proficiency in MS Excel Work in special projects and other duties as required.
- The ability to adapt to new and different computer programs and software to enable efficient data gathering and analysis.
- Detail-oriented, punctual, strong organizational and good communication skills.
- The ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously under mínimal supervision and shifting priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- 3 - 5+ years experience in a similar role in a CPG industry is preferred.
- Excellent project management & communication skills (verbal & written) required.
