Cardiac Sonographer

Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations on patients
- Excellent knowledge of cardiac pathology
- Superior bedside manner and clinical judgement within scope of a sonographer
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images for diagnostic purposes
- Analyze information and medical images to provide accurate diagnoses
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to determine appropriate procedures
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Participate in regular quality assurance initiatives

- Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound principles and techniques
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients and healthcare professionals
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Exams performed include adult, adult congenital and pediatric cases.

**Requirements**:
- Commitment to excellence in performing echocardiography and quality improvement
- Excellent bedside manners and patient-centered care
- Strong team player
- Physical ability to complete a variety of echocardiograms daily
- Current and active CPR/BLS for healthcare providers
- Criminal record check (including vulnerable sector)
- Active registration and certification by ARDMS or Sonography Canada (_Must be eligible for and willing to acquire Sonography Canada credentials within 12 months of hire if you currently hold only ARDMS)._
- The employment contract is conditional upon successful completion of an accredited cardiac sonographer training program
- Employee may perform other related duties as assigned by their supervisor.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$51.00 per hour
