**Shuttle service between downtown Toronto and Pearson airport location**

**Availability between 10am-12pm two days per week**

General
Pearson YYZ has overall responsibility for the shuttle, the coordination of the transport of dogs and the administration of these policies, responsibilities and procedures. Pearson will train drivers on these policies, responsibilities and procedures.

All locations are responsible for care and safety of their dogs and belongings up to departure hand-off to driver and after arrival hand-off from driver.
If adjustments are necessary to the shuttle schedule (i.e. if dogs are late or last minute dogs are added), it is the departing location management’s responsibility for adjusting the shuttle list and advising Pearson as shuttle is leaving originating location.

The shuttle driver is responsible for care and safety of the dogs and their belongings during the transport process (departing hand-off to arrival hand-off).
Liberty Village staff will coordinate any required garbage/recycling pick-up with Pearson until further notice. Pearson will add the pick-up to the Daily Shuttle Schedule on a trip when no dogs are being transported. Ideally this would be done on a Sunday.

Shuttle driver

Inspect the vehicle to ensure the vehicle is suitable and capable of performing the trip requirements and document that inspection on the Vehicle Inspection Checklist.
Plan the day’s trips using the Daily Shuttle Schedule, taking into consideration the required stops, scheduled dog arrival and departure times, weather and traffic conditions.

Ensure that s/he knows the requirements of each trip before departure including dogs and items being transported by reviewing and understanding the trip Shuttle Checklist.

Verify with the departing location any dynamics between dogs which may affect their placement in the shuttle. Dogs reactive to other dogs must not be placed close together, either on separate shuttles or distanced in the van.
Safely move dogs (on their leashes) and their belongings between facility and shuttle by following the protocols for moving dogs, which is documented in the Dog Handling Guide.

Ensure that each dog has sufficient space to safely and comfortably lie down in the shuttle.

Ensure that for each trip s/he has the Daily Shuttle Schedule, Shuttle Checklist and any paperwork for dogs being transported.

Transport any Liberty Village garbage and recycling to Pearson YYZ every Sunday, if required and dispose of it in the appropriate bin at Pearson until further notice
Completely inspect the interior of the shuttle after unloading dogs and bins to ensure nothing being transported has been left behind.

The primary driver is responsible for basic maintenance of vehicle and contents which include;
ensuring the vehicle is fueled
ensuring the windshield washer tank is filled
having the vehicle washed once a month
cleaning the vehicle interior at least once per week, including;
cleaning inside of windows
wiping down dashboard and console, and walls with Lysol wipes
vacuuming
air out van for a minimum of 15 minutes daily
ensuring dog safety harnesses and tie-downs are in a condition that does not compromise dog safety and removing damaged items from the shuttle and requesting replacements from management

Daycare locations
Ensure all dogs and all of their belongings are properly prepared and ready for transport to Pearson according to the Daily Shuttle Schedule.
Prepare the Shuttle Checklist for each trip departing that location.
Receive all returning dogs, account for and properly store their belongings and reports pending pick-up by clients.
