**Contract (6-Months) Part-Time**

**OFFICE LOCATION**:Stevenson Hall (216 Simcoe St) with some travel through Peterborough City and County**START DATE**: ASAP**WAGE RANGE**:$22.36-25.44**HOURS**:Part-Time, Days, Occasional Afternoons/Weekends as required.**CONTRACT ENDING**: August 23th, 2024**POSITION PURPOSE**:
The Nourish Project is a multi-sector collaborative that grew out of work initiated by the Peterborough Food Action Network, a working group of the Peterborough Poverty Reduction Network. Our vision is to develop a local network of dynamic places for food dedicated to community, health, and fairness. Using food as a medium for community and economic development, Nourish’s mission is to grow access to healthy food, nurture food skills, and to support civic engagement and advocacy initiatives designed to raise awareness about food insecurity, poverty and social isolation and create positive changes in communities throughout our region.The Nourish JustFood Staff runs bimonthly food packing days, recruits and orients volunteers and supports the development of the program in all its key facets.**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- ** To create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for all volunteers and participants on JustFood packing days.**:

- ** To guide and support volunteer packers and ensure they follow appropriate food handling procedures.**:

- ** To oversee smooth implementation of JustFood Packing days and delivery of food boxes of highest quality.**:

- ** To facilitate effective food pick-up and neighbourhood delivery system, including driving of cube van to key neighbourhood locations throughout the City of Peterborough, when needed.**:

- ** To perform administrative functions related to the program, including data collection.**:

- ** To provide information about resources and local access to food to community members, when requested.**:

- ** To perform other related duties as requested by supervisor.**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- ** Post-secondary education in a field demonstrated to be relevant to anti-poverty work and/or minimum of 3 years of experience in grassroots community development or food security programming.**:

- ** Demonstrated experience working with volunteers with a clear ability to inspire, teach and empower them.**:

- ** Proven ability to carry out demanding physical work.**:

- ** Strong commitment to Anti-Oppression/Anti-Racism work and demonstrated ability to deal with conflicts effectively and positively.**:

- ** Exceptional communication skills in English. Additional languages (including ASL) an asset.**:

- ** Strong problem-solving capacity and proven ability to work independently.**:

- ** Valid driver’s license and appropriate insurance required as well as access to a vehicle and ability to drive cube van.**:

- ** Safe food handling and First Aid training and Clear CPIC for the vulnerable sector required.**:
