Aecon is currently seeking a Survey Assistant to join the Aecon Construction Ontario East Ltd., ACOE, Survey Team, working out of the Ottawa area. Under the general supervision and direction of a Surveyor, the Survey Assistant will support the daily activities of the surveying group working on our various projects.

**What You'll Do Here**
- Maintain and verify provided control network.
- Work with the Survey Team to develop survey plans/job lay out methods and procedures for conducting construction surveys.
- Collect, manage, and output data using conventional survey methods and computer-aided design.
- Record measurements and other information obtained during survey activities.
- Work with the Engineering team to develop and analyze as-builts drawings.
- Assist to complete lay out calculations.
- Work with the Surveyor to establish and maintain site survey control.
- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment.
- Assist with setting-up GPS and machine control systems on-site.

**What You Bring to the Team**
- Post-secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering.
- Knowledge of survey practices and standards.
- Any experience in Construction surveying industry would be considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of office, data, surveying, and engineering-based software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of engineering design and survey methods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Available to travel to various projects.
- Driver’s license (Class G). Driver’s Abstract required.
