Battery Sorter

GFL Environmental is looking for an Battery Sorter to join our growing liquid team out of our Hamilton. GFL Environmental offers competitive compensation and an attractive benefits plan. By joining GFL, you can make a difference with your career, your community and our planet.Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Battery sorter is responsible for sorting batteries to the proper destinations, data entry and forklift movements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sorting mixed batteries on a production conveyor
- Transport raw materials, scrap and recyclable materials throughout plant using a forklift
- Data entry using Microsoft Excel and Greentrax
- Clean work areas and equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

- Completion of secondary school
- Experience in a related production line occupation or as a warehouse worker Forklift and/or Overhead crane experience an asset
- OHSA Rights and Responsibilities, WHMIS training
- Physical strength is required for manual material handling materials
- Long standing, walking and some mínimal climbing of ladders and stairs
- Wearing and maintenance of required PPE including respirator mask

Work Schedule:

- 8:00am-4:00pm (Day shift)
- This position will operate in an industrial setting that operates 5 days per week. You may be required to work additional hours and/or outside of regular hours to meet customer requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Must be flexible and dependable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in difficult situations
