**Role Summary**:
The MRO Buyer is responsible to buy all maintenance, repair, and operating supplies for the organization upon receipt of properly authorized requisitions from users or other authorized employees. The MRO Buyer is responsible to obtain goods and services to satisfy reasonable user needs promptly and make purchases in accordance with the approved purchasing policy and procedure manual. All purchases should be made at the lowest cost where cost is interpreted to include both external and internal costs of material, labor, shipping, financing, packaging, scheduling, and the risks of doing business.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Procure machinery spare parts and maintenance related items to guarantee production uptime.
2. Procure consumables (stockroom) items.
3. Procure tool room items/materials.
4. Update min/max order sheets to ensure stock on hand is available to meet plant-wide demands.
5. Implement/replace service contracts (snow removal, cleaning services, yard maintenance, etc.).
6. Procure plant-wide chemical requirements.
7. Procure waste and recycling programs.
8. All procurement activities to be carried out in accordance to purchasing procedures and guidelines.
9. Consolidate supply base to optimize purchasing spending.
10. Prepare cost analysis.
11. Develop new suppliers where necessary.
12. Complete monthly reports as required.
13. Ensure all buys meet the categories of best cost, quality and delivery.
14. Track monthly cost savings.
15. Meet annual cost reduction targets.
16. Ensure continuous improvement process is being followed.
17. Promote and comply with safety standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
18. Optimize timely CRW paybacks from suppliers.
19. Prepare monthly supplier evaluation data.
20. Setup, implement, and maintain Autocrib
21. Act as backup for Traffic when required; involving accurate management of freight documents; expedite any necessary orders to ensure that goods are delivered on time
22. Ensure, with the cooperation of other Co-Ex-Tec departments and Corporate that the division achieves and maintains the highest possible Customer rating for satisfaction; strive for zero defects in all areas of the business.
23. Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety (ISO 45001), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) requirements.
24. Promote and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
25. Initiate and/or participate in continuous improvement activities.
26. Follow all work cell/and or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
27. Attend authorized training in order to develop and/or maintain relevant job-related knowledge, techniques, skills, and/or certification.
28. May be required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature.
29. Any other reasonable duties as requested by Management.

**Key Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma with emphasis on general business / technical orientation, preferred
- PMAC Certification or CPP designation (preferably APICS) preferred; hazardous goods training
- Minimum 5 years automotive buying experience within an MRO/Stores environment
- High degree of technical aptitude, strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Able to build effective long-term supplier relationships
- Capable of meeting tight deadlines
- Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use
- Diplomatic and professional with internal and external customers/suppliers; strong team player
- Familiar with rental and leasing agreements and service contracts
- Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset
