**Job description**

**Roofers are required to remove old roofing materials, install new underlayment and new roofing materials. Materials should be installed as per manufacturer instructions and Markelangelo's best practices and procedures.**

Roofers are also required to work in extreme temperatures, be able to use basic hand and power tools, and hold valid Ontario Working at Heights certifications (can be trained by Markelangelo’s).

Employees are also required to handle chemicals and must hold a valid WHMIS certification. Chemicals that may be used, but not limited to are;
- Unleaded gasoline and diesel
- Degreasers and cleaners
- Solvent-based caulking
- Asphalt based products

**Working Conditions**:
Employees are required to work long shifts (up to 12 hours) in variable weather conditions. All work is performed outdoors and therefor requires that supervisors be able and willing to work and lead others in the following conditions;
- Hot and humid weather over and above 30 degrees Celsius,
- Cold weather below 0 degrees Celsius but not below -20 degrees Celsius,
- Rain, snow, sleet and wind.

**Work Hours**
- 7am start time
- Typical day is from 7am to 5pm
- Overtime is available
- Monday to Friday (Saturdays if it rains during the week)
- On-call during inclement weather

Work Remotely
- No

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

- Roofing: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Ontario Working at Heights Certificate (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
