GFI is currently recruiting for a Plant Labourer for our facility in Lajord, Saskatchewan. The role will be responsible for tasks associated with receiving, processing, handling, shipping of food ingredients; maintaining and servicing equipment, minor installations and repairs; as well as some general labour in and around the facility. The position will contribute to a safe and healthy environment at the facility, clean and well-maintained physical facilities and positive working relationships with colleagues, producers, truckers and other business partners.

**Responsibilities**
- Complying with all health and safety procedures
- Unloading and receiving deliveries of food ingredients, including weighing and documentation
- Providing friendly service to farmers and truckers delivering product
- Taking samples of product for quality analysis
- Operating grain processing equipment including cleaning, handling, bagging and storing of product
- Operating facility control systems
- Preparing and loading export shipments in rail cars and containers
- Preparing shipping documentation and maintaining product samples
- Operating a forklift as needed
- Helping to ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
- Servicing/repairing equipment and minor installations as needed
- Ensuring the facility is clean, including sweeping, brushing down equipment and vacuuming any residue
- Other responsibilities as required

**Qualifications**
- Mechanically-inclined
- Able to repair equipment and do minor installations
- Able to operate grain processing equipment
- Performance-driven
- Strong work ethic, ability to learn and a willingness to take on the responsibilities of the position
- Able to work independently, within company policies and guidelines
- Reliable
- Safety-conscious
- Background in agriculture and/or experience operating cleaning equipment
- Hardworking team player with a positive attitude
- Physical ability to perform the required duties of the role within a specialty crops facility
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Previous grain and/or special crops experience is considered an asset
- Ability to work night shifts, or day shifts as required
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license.
- Forklift license and experience operating a forklift is an asset, or a willingness to be trained/certified
