**Position Summary**

We’re currently looking for a Casual Cook.

The position is for scheduled shifts every other weekend and to cover occasional shift requests during the week.

This role is responsible for ensuring the exceptional preparation and delivery of the resident’s and their guest’s dining experience using production checks and standardized recipes, including from time to time more complex meal preparations for special occasions.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensures meals are served on time, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities.
- Prepares meals for residents and guests
- Complies with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements in a clean, safe and sanitary manner
- Maintains required records such as menu changes, delivery receipts, and temperature checks.
- Co-operates with other departments to meet resident needs.
- Attends in-service meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager or Chef.
- Operates and cleans food production equipment and food preparation areas
- Ensures that fixtures and equipment used for food preparation and service are clean and stored appropriately. Assists with daily cleaning duties as scheduled.

**Requirements**:

- Experience cooking large quantities ie: restaurant, conference/banquet centre, retirement home
- Live in, or near Bradford, Ontario
- Ability to understand directions
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand and walk short distances throughout the day
- Ability to tolerate heat from the kitchen area
- Effective time management and communications skills
- Cooperative team member who is comfortable working with and supervising others
- Experience in preparing tasty baked goods
- Food Safe/Food Handler or equivalent (required)
