**Other Information**:As the Utility Maintenance Person, you will provide general maintenance and plumbing repairs
services throughout the division. In this capacity, the emphasis will be on the maintenance and repair of divisional
plumbing fixtures. This is an 8/hr day M-F term until return of incumbent being replaced.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintenance and repair of divisional plumbing fixtures***
- Maintenance and repair of divisional buildings including storage facilities, schools, school grounds, furniture,
and fixtures***
- Maintenance and repair divisional equipment (i.e. lawnmowers, tractors, and other small engine equipment)***
- Other duties will also be assigned**
**Qualifications**:
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent
- Two to four years experience in building and general maintenance
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- WHMIS training
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Familiar with building codes and plumbing specifications would be considered an asset
- Valid Journeyman Certification in a relate trade would be considered an asset
- Basic welding and small engine maintenance as well confined space entry experience would be considered an
asset
- Licensed B gas fitter would be considered an asset
- Ability to obtain small water treatment operator certification within 12 months is mandatory
As a condition of employment, all new hires must complete a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable
sector search, and child abuse registry check as part of the hiring process.
Salary & benefits for this position will be administered in accordance with the SRSD/Division Office collective
bargaining agreement (CBA).
