**General Accountability**:

- Investigates, evaluates, and negotiates tort accident claims for or against the TTC/TTC Insurance Company Limited/Toronto Coach Terminal or their employees. The role provides support services to the Section in the preparation of material for pending litigation, arbitration hearings and adjudication tribunals.**Key Job Functions**:

- Conduct interviews, visit accident scenes, and obtain information to assist in the investigation process.
- Evaluate and negotiate accident claims through reviewing evidence, establishing value of claims, and attending discoveries/mediations/hearings, etc., as required.
- Prepare and maintain various types of reports, ensure adequate reserves, and ensure relevant regulatory requirements and legislation are adhered to.
- Promotes a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provides leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies.

**Skills**:
- Demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field- Communicate in a variety of mediums- **Education and Experience**:

- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of Claims handling, particularly in the area of Bodily Injury claims, and related investigative procedures and techniques is required
- Sound knowledge of the laws of negligence, no-fault, precedent legal ,arbitration decisions, motor vehicle accident claims fund and SLASTO decisions; uninsured motorist coverage and pertinent legislation (e.g. Insurance Act of Ontario, Highway Traffic Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Statutes of Limitations, the Ontario Human Rights Code, etc.) related to areas of responsibility.
- Knowledge of court/litigation procedures, Ontario Rules of Practice ,FSCO policies and procedures and SLASTO policies and procedures is required
- Must possess sound judgement, strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills, well-developed analytical, problem-solving and organizational ability
- Must have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and Related Orders including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements pertaining to passengers and employees.
