Reporting to a section head or excluded manager and working in a variety of settings, the Authorizations Specialist provides senior technical advice and may make decisions regarding the allocation of resources and adjudication of resource authorizations for the Natural Resource Sector.

**Job Requirements**:

- Degree in natural resource management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with the Water Sustainability Act.
- Experience in water resource management, preferably relating to water allocation.
- Experience writing technical reports which support resource management decisions.
- Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
- Experience in consulting, negotiating and resolving conflicts with stakeholders in natural resource management.

Preferences
- Experience working with GIS.
- Knowledge of contract administration and management.

Provisos
- Willingness to conduct field work which may include travel to remote areas by vehicle, boat, ATV, air or foot, overnight or extended stay in rough camp conditions and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Valid BC driver’s licence.
- Must be physically able to carry equipment and supplies in difficult terrain.
