Novaa is a cloud-based accounting firm providing online accounting and fractional CFO/Controller services across Canada and the US. We provide a progressive external finance team for start-ups and businesses looking for strategic financial guidance and tech solutions to scale, accelerate growth, and maintain or optimize business operations. Our services include CFO and financial advisory services (budgeting and forecasting, KPI development and monitoring, cashflow management, M&A due diligence support, and strategic planning), corporate tax planning and preparation (corporate tax filings, tax advisory on complex financial structures, and unique tax planning with short and long term optimization strategies) and full service accounting and compliance reporting (managing monthly sales tax, payroll compliance to completing year-end compilations, review engagements, and assisting in audits).

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with full cycle bookkeeping and payroll functions for Novaa clients
- Prepare and maintain payroll and related government remittances/filings, recording of sales, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, payroll and Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) transactions
- Set up client files and assist with the completion of budgets and administrative planning
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL accounts including cash, bank reconciliations, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, accounts payable, accrued liabilities and intercompany and point of sale (POS)/system uploads
- Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, discuss with supervisor or engagement partner to develop resolutions
- Communicate with governments regarding information requests, assessments and installments
- Work collaboratively and develop and maintain relationships with clients and other team members

Skills And Experience
- Certificate or diploma in business administration or accounting is considered an asset
- 1-2 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
- Experience working with cloud accounting software such as QBO and/or Xero is preferred
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and processes
- Understanding of sales taxes (GST, PST, HST), payroll taxes and corporate tax

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
