**Your Opportunity**:
**Description**:
As a Laboratory Assistant II, you will be responsible for pre-analytical specimen handling, transport, accessioning, processing and storage. You will also be responsible for responding to inquiries, cleaning, monitoring and preventative maintenance of lab equipment and work areas, maintaining common supplies, updating inventories and data sheets and participating in lab quality and safety requirements.

**Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate from a Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Sciences (CSMLS) accredited program. Minimum two years’ experience in a microbiology laboratory. Excellent comprehension, written and communication skills. Demonstrated professionalism within a laboratory setting. Strong commitment to customer service. Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask. Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team contributing to and promoting a positive work environment. Flexible with the ability to work within an environment of change. Demonstrated understanding of a philosophy of quality systems improvement. Equivalent qualifications may be considered.
