We are looking for a highly motivated Product Owner to join our Pensions Data Team in Toronto. You will be part of growing a data-driven product development team striving to transform OMERS employees, members, employers and stakeholders’ experiences through the deployment of high-quality data products and visualizations. We are striving to provide information and actionable insights to improve experiences for members, stakeholders, employers and OMERS teams.

**As a member of this team, you will be responsible for**:
Maximize the product value through leveraging and understanding user feedback, stakeholder opportunities and the technology landscape
Clearly expressing requirements through documentation of user stories and epics
Plan and prioritize the product backlog items to best achieve goals
Manage product design, dependencies and trade-offs and ability to resolve cross-team interdependencies
Ensure work is focused to deliver maximum value
Clear and comprehensive communication with the agile team regarding feature work, goals and deliverables
Drive iteration and release plans, with a focused attention to work progress in sprint and to addressing issues during sprints
Communicate and promote product release plans, and set expectations for the delivery of new features and functionality
Participate in close collaboration with Product Managers, Agile Development Leads, Designers, DevOps, QAs, Technical Leads and our Technical Development Squads in order to guide development of our product vision
Maintaining a knowledge of agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques

**To succeed in this role**:
You are a self-starter who uses sharp analytical and innovative problem-solving skills to recommend business solutions to drive results and solve problems
You have passion for working with people, empathy and a knack for building great relationships with your colleagues
You have outstanding communication, with the ability to effectively interpret ideas and information, and present to diverse audiences
You are adaptable to change, have the ability to manage multiple concurrent demands and make effective judgments as to priorities
Technical background with knowledge of data analytics and visualization, data warehousing and/or business intelligence
3+ years of experience as Product Owner or Business Analyst in an Agile (Scrum) environment and/or Actuarial Sciences, Financial Services and Banking, or Pensions
Experience using JIRA or other user story and task management tool
Experience using Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization software
Proficient in SQL and Excel

Founded in 1962, OMERS is one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, with $127.4 billion in net assets as at June 30, 2023. OMERS is a jointly-sponsored pension plan, with more than 1,000 participating employers ranging from large cities to local agencies, and over half a million active, deferred and retired members. OMERS members include union and non-union employees of municipalities, school boards, local boards, transit systems, electrical utilities, emergency services and children’s aid societies across Ontario. Contributions to the Plan are funded equally by members and employers.
