**Job description**

Summer camp guides lead either the kids camp (ages 6-9) or youth camp (ages 10-12). Out-trips include White Pine Beach, Rocky Point, Crash Crawly's, the Coquitlam Aquatic Centre, Poirier Pool, and more. A reliable car is recommended. Hours are between 8 am - 6 pm Monday-Friday.

We are looking for experienced camp, child care, and outdoor recreation professionals that wish to make a positive impact in the community. You are aligned with our values and are driven with purpose. We seek positive role models that are patient, kind, reliable, respectful, creative, dedicated, take initiative, and love to build relationships and community. Extensive knowledge of games is recommended. Please include a recent Criminal Record Check if you have one. A CRC is required. Lifeguards are encouraged to apply.

The position will include, but is not limited to:

- Ensuring everyone's wellness, safety, and engagement
- Collaborating with other Camp Staff and Volunteers
- Developing a safe, inclusive, and fun community for all
- Anticipating potential challenges and de-escalating and resolving them

Full time
- 40 hours per week

The position will generally be outdoors. As this job is partially funded by Canada Summer Jobs, staff need to be between 18-30 years old and Canadian citizens or Permanent residents.

Adventure Play Care Society is a non-profit that operates Rainforest Adventure Camps for kids and youth. These camps are entirely outdoors in and around the Tri-cities exploring some of the most beautiful forests, lakes, beaches, and rivers in the area. Our camps seek to further develop participants' independence, leadership, empathy, resilience, and social growth in a fun, safe, and peaceful setting. We also run after-school and theatre programs with public performances. Our programs are child and youth-centred. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and create community.

Contract length: 11 weeks

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour
