**Job Title**: Landscape Labor Technician
**Position Type**: Full Time; Seasonal
**Wage**: Based on Experience and Performance
**Reports to**: Landscape Foreman
**Purpose**: The Landscape Labor Technician is responsible for assisting the Foreman in the installation of landscaping projects such as patios, water features, driveways & walkways, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens and so much more. This employee is an energetic individual looking to become a Landscape Professional and build a career - not just a laborer.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Installing sod, dirt, and plants (Softscape)
- Installing patios, walls, and decks (Hardscape)
- Cutting and measuring of job materials
- Operating small landscaping equipment and tools such as packers, saws, and other power tools
- Communicate with the Lead Hand and Foreman effectively for accurate completion of work
- Notify the Foreman of any tools, equipment, and machinery in need of maintenance
- Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times
- Follow the training and promote the workplace best practices of installation, safety, and company standards
- Other duties as required
**Qualification Requirements**:
- Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record; Class 3F w/ Air an asset
- Experience hauling a trailer; an asset
- Visual Acuity to accurately cut and measure materials, operate equipment, perform tasks and review work for accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
- Ability to follow company Safety Procedures and recognize Job Hazards
- Motivated individual who is detail orientated
- Must be available for seasonal long hours (Saturdays may be included)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Punctual and dependable
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
**Education/experience**:
- Basic knowledge of construction
- Experience operating power tools
- Experience working with a landscaping crew; an asset

**Physical Conditions**:
The duties of the Landscape Labor Technician are carried out primarily in an outdoor setting.
- Uses hands, arms, and shoulders when using various types of equipment (daily)
- Ability to cross on uneven ground
- Ability to work outside for long periods of time
**Psychological/Stress Conditions**:
The Landscape Labor Technician position workload and environment does not generally increase employee emotional or stress levels.
- Interruptions and requests from multiple areas (daily).
- Multitasking (daily).
- Repetitive movements
- Job demands versus time constraints (daily).
- Periods of intense concentration when meeting deadlines and during peak periods.
**Work Conditions**:
The Landscape Labor Technician works independently and in a team environment.
- Works in a shared and consultative manner with other employees (daily).
- Wide variety of tasks requiring the ability to manage multiple unrelated projects and make independent decisions (daily).
- Self-motivated and quality driven to perform independent projects (daily).

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.24 per hour
