**Job description**

Martin & Hillyer Associates, one of Ontario's pre-eminent law firms located in Burlington for over 50 years, has an opening for a **Full Time Law Clerk. **The successful applicant must be experienced in Civil Litigation, Personal Injury and Accidents Benefits.

**Duties and Responsibilities include**:

- Prepare motion materials
- Review files re status and moving forward
- Answer undertakings given at discovery
- Deal with and respond to incoming mail/faxes on assigned files
- Deal with all aspects of Tort and AB-side of all files
- Preparation of Authorizations, Bills of Costs, client disbursement lists and client accounts
- Other duties as assigned
- Have knowledge of legal principles and practices through education and related experience
- Have software knowledge of MS-Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook and PC Law
- Knowledge of ACL software would be an asset.
- Possess the interpersonal skills necessary in order to effectively communicate and empathize with clients, lawyers and staff
- Be a self starter who is capable of working both independently and as part of a group
- Be motivated and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize
- Possess the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Be able to work extended hours when necessary

**Compensation**:
Competitive Salary plus Benefits. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

**Experience**:

- Civil Litigation and Personal Injury: minimum 3 years experience preferred
