**SCOPE**

The Dispensary/Sterilization Technician is responsible for the day to day operation of the dental hygiene and dental assisting clinic. Provides advanced skills in dental dispensary/sterilization operations and client care.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Performs all clinic related opening, closing and maintenance procedures.
- Cleans, disinfects, packages and sterilizes dental instruments.
- Follows all Infection Prevention and Control Policies (IPAC) and procedures as they relate to the day to day management of clinical operations.
- Monitor student compliance as it relates to IPAC.
- Orders and dispenses instruments, dental materials and supplies to students and faculty.
- Operates ultrasonic cleaners, hydrims and sterilizers.
- Coordinate any clinic equipment repairs with service technician.
- Performs all clinic related opening, closing and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in the dispensary and in the sterilization area.
- Perform daily spore testing and maintain a log of the results.
- Assists in periodic or annual inventory as required.
- Maintains security of College property in work areas.
- Ensures proper utilization and compliance with clinic equipment loan policies.
- Provides follow-up on all loaned equipment.
- Makes recommendation to supervisor regarding individual inventory levels.
- Monitors and rotates expendable supplies to ensure proper shelf life and compliance with expiration dates as needed.
- Work well under pressure, meet multiple and often competing deadlines.
- At all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with supervisors, subordinates, colleagues and clients.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
