University Health Network (UHN) and The Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology is looking for a Research Coordinator
Princess Margaret (PM) Cancer Centre / University Health Network is an academic research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. In the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the PM, a study coordinator would have an excellent experience with front-line contact with cancer patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized individual who would like to make improvements in health care.

You will be responsible for coordinating patient contact and data collection for a study of long-term toxicities in head and neck cancer patients treated radiation. You will help to develop a pipeline for identifying and recruiting eligible patients, coordinating patient contact with research assistants, and managing databases for tracking patient data collection. You will also liaise with the principal investigator and study collaborators to coordinate study logistics and report findings.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Screening patients for eligibility, recruiting and obtaining consent
- Administering surveys, tracking data and patient information
- Conducting fibrosis tests using devices that the coordinator will be trained to perform
- Ensuring project quality control
- Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical outpatient and/or inpatient environment.
- Transcribing or extracting data from medical records, cleaning data, and managing some components of databases
- Implementing and coordinating all aspects of data collection and source documentation, as per UHN policy and ICH/GCP guidelines
- Tracking patients’ visit schedules and approaching patients for study follow-up
- May involve conducting telephone and/or clinical recruitment interviews

**Skills**:

- At minimum, Bachelor’s Degree in health-related field or science-related discipline
- At least one year of clinical research experience preferred
- Demonstrated relevant clinical research knowledge an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
- Possesses strong organizational skills with ability to multitask while paying attention to details
- Ability to problem solve and to think critically
- Previous patient interaction experience would be an asset
- Excellent computer skills (i.e. MS Office).
- Previous experience with database management software such as Microsoft Accessor REDCap would be an asset.
