**Summary**:
We are an **exceptional FX Supervisor **to lead a talented crew to outstanding heights on** Seth Rogen's Animated Project for Amazon Studios**

We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in Houdini and Maya and has a keen artistic eye. Someone who has a solid understanding of the animation production pipeline and the ability to produce the highest possible quality effects.

**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Work with the show Art Direction team to create the visual level of the show.
- Work closely with CG Supervisor and other members to identify and solve technical issues.
- R&D and implement FX, run shots: particles, rigid body, fluids, large and small-scale destruction, smoke, dust, lightning, fire, storms, explosions, etc.
- Collaborate with the Pipeline group to improve FX processes and workflow.
- Conceptualize and create CG FX sequences ensuring that the aesthetic, creative, and technical quality standards of the production are met
- Work to integrate effects into the shot workflow, in an efficient way.
- Provide suggestions and recommendations on techniques and elements used in the show.
- Train, mentor and support the growth of other artists through conversations and documentation.
- Communicate and Document your knowledge of innovative FX animation technologies.
- Participate in the development of department procedures: workflows, toolsets, best practices

**Your Experience, Talents and Abilities**:

- 5+ years of industry experience with effects simulations in features, television or games.
- Proficiency in Houdini, Maya and Nuke Compositing.
- Deep understanding of the animation production pipeline to produce high quality effects.
- FX lighting, shading and rendering principles critical for this project.
- Experience with small and large scale water simulations and explosions is a plus.
- Programing skills: Python, Hscript, VEX, C++ all a plus
- Experience with Stylized or non-realistic Effects is a plus
- Able to troubleshoot, solve problems and find workarounds as appropriate
- Strong composition and artistic timing. Understanding of cinematic film making principles.
- Experience with Shotgun/Shotgrid Software is a plus
- Experience with traditional/2D animation/principles is a plus
- Eligible to work in B.C.
- This is a remote (work from home) position, but if you prefer to work from the studio this is also possible
