Student Support-through connections from grade to grade and through high school and beyond

Inclusive Learning-working with school based team and have extensive knowledge of ISPs, Behaviour Support Plans, Success in Schools, ESL plans

Specialized Assessment
- identify students’ strengths and needs and identify specialized supports and services and what services are available

Responsive Services-through VTRA and with significant issues that arise and procedures

Community Support-through relationships with community agencies

Relationships with Parents and Guardians and be able to provide Professional Learning.

Will also require an in-depth knowledge of Junior High and High school credentials for the different possible certificates, diplomas and scholarships/bursaries.

Ardrossan Junior Senior High is a grades 7-12 school with approximately 840 students, 43 teaching staff, and 15 support staff. The school is located in the town of Ardrossan, Alberta approximately 10 minutes east of Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Our school offers students a wide variety of opportunities to make student programs challenging and interesting. As we are a combined junior/senior high school, our staff and administration get to know our students very well during their years at Ardrossan. There is a strong sense of "family" at our school.

Commencing August 29, 2023

Open to internal and external applicants, priority will be given to EIPS teachers who hold a continuous contract and meet the minimum requirements of the position

A master's degree in counselling and registered or provisional psychologist status is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants presently working on a master's in this area. A minimum of five years of teaching experience, education psychology or a related discipline with a focus in counselling, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment Training (VTRA) would be considered an asset.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Effective organization and classroom management skills

Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

Excellent verbal and written skills

Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
