**Position Summary**
This is your opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families Families First is a non-profit organization located in Fort Saskatchewan providing support to community members and families from a prevention and early intervention perspective. Our mission: Through improving the lives of our children, youth, and families today, we help create a resilient, healthy community for tomorrow.

Working within the FRN team, the Home Visitor will provide outreach support to caregivers of children
0 - 6 years (including prenatal support) in family homes in the Fort Saskatchewan and Sturgeon
Region. Home Visitation focuses on nurturing the relationship between caregivers and children and supporting families to maximize their children’s developmental potential. The Home Visitor also provides group education and support for Health for Two for prenatal caregivers.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Build healthy relationships with families, community and the Families First team
- Provide psycho-educational support in family homes and in a group setting in community
- Build hope and resilience in families and our team
- Work effectively both within a team and independently
- Support caregiver - child attachment
- Use Ages and Stages Questionnaire to support optimal development and supports
- Engage caregivers and children in capacity building
- Support caregivers to navigate complicated systems when required
- Report trends and gaps in services to Families First team
- Advocate for families to access the supports they require
- Build knowledge and awareness of the Fort Saskatchewan and Sturgeon Region communities
- Build collaborative partnerships
- Coordinate care when required

**Qualities and Qualifications**
- Diploma or degree in human services field; or at least 2 years of work-related experience
- Registration with your regulatory body if applicable
- Ages and Stages Questionnaire training, Circle of Security Parenting considered an asset
- Solid knowledge of brain science, attachment theory, child development, trauma, and resiliency’
- Empathetic and passionate about supporting families and community
- Anti-oppressive lens
- Flexible, adaptable, and excited to learn
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to provide criminal record check and intervention record check
- Willingness to embrace the culture and values of Families First Society
- Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action

**Compensation package**:

- This position is supported by significant training through Families First and Alberta Home Visitation Network Association
- Families First believes that a healthy team is needed to support healthy families; to that end, we provide robust health and wellness support:

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
