**As the **_Clerk A - Pre-Authorized Clerk_**_ _**you will**:

- Entering the customer’s banking information into Water and Waste’s billing system.
- Filing pre-authorization documents for systematic control and ease of retrieval.
- Review accounts for customer continued eligibility for pre-authorized payment.
- Process electronic bank payments, TelPay and pre-authorized payments.
- Produce and distribute reports.
- Review severance processes and cancel events/processes as required.
- Assist in reviewing turn-off orders for payment arrangements and technical ability to turn off water service.
- Provide coverage to other positions in customer accounts as required.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the classification as required.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- High School diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years’ experience working in an office environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an organized manner.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and work on a personal computer at a basic level using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to type accurately at 40 wpm net.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and information effectively both verbally and in writing, to customers and internal staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers and compute accurate mathematical calculations.
- Demonstrated ability to work under mínimal supervision.
- Ability to access, update and process information using Water and Waste Mainframe Billing System, the Royal Bank Pre-Authorized Payment and Bank Systems.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of Water By-law and Sewer By-law, Department policies and procedures related to payment processing.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.
