Cad Technician

**Job Summary**

The Template/CAD Technician will create 2D and 3D templates to create drawings and CNC programs for solid surface fabrication and installation. You will work cooperatively and coordinate with our existing templators. You will spend 2-3 days a week taking onsite measurements/templating and 2-3 days a week generating required drawings.

A company car will be provided for business travel.

**Required Skills**:

- Template surfaces for custom solid/quartz/stone surface projects using digital template equipment
- Perform site survey including photos of site approach, work location and conditions
- Work closely with sales, logistics and production to ensure all information is clearly communicated
- Ensure documentation is complete to company standard
- Participate in weekly production/scheduling meetings as required
- Receive template photos, drawings and data.
- Create shop/assembly drawings using AllenCad (similar to AutoCAD)
- Create CNC Saw files from AllenCAD, exported as.dxf
- Create CNC Router files from AllenCAD, exported as.dxf
- Competent in use of linear and surface area dimensions in both imperial and metric.
- Keen eye to detail with a measure twice, cut once mentality.
- Willingness to learn, understand and become expert at new softwares and technologies.
- Participate in job specific training from time to time.
- Adheres to all Health & Safety Rules and Regulations
- Daily travel in South Central Ontario
- Maintain a valid drivers License
- Other duties that may be required by management

**Qualifications**
- Proficient user of digital template equipment (LT-55 / LT-2D-3D / Proliner or similar)
- Proficient user of AllenCad or AutoCad or similar 2D CAD software
- Strong computer skills
- Working knowledge of solid surface manufacturing processes
- Capable user of all Microsoft Office products
- Professional, customer service oriented manner and appearance

**Physical Demands**
- Ability to sit for 6 hours
- Ability to stand/walk for 4 hours
- Able to lift 25 kilos or 50 lbs unassisted and carry as required
- Ability to go up and down stairs while carrying merchandise/components
- Ability to walk and carry at the same time and push/pull as required
- Ability to work in an environment conducive to the manufacture of man made and natural stone products

**Experience**:

- Stone Fabrication: 2 years (preferred)
