**Position Details**- The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. (or be ABD with a set defense date) in philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, or epistemology. Filling more than one of these areas of specialization would be an asset, but we are open to considering all combinations that include at least one.-
- The successful applicant will teach courses in their areas of research and supervise graduate students. They will also be expected to contribute more broadly to the Department’s teaching needs at all levels, in areas including Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language, Epistemology, Logic/Critical Thinking, Environmental Philosophy, and Philosophy of AI. The ability to teach in these areas from a non-Western perspective would be of value. The Department of Philosophy is developing its ability to support majors in the University’s Neuroscience program; demonstrated ability to contribute to this objective will be considered a strength.-

- The Department of Philosophy has an energetic and enthusiastic group of faculty members with research and teaching strengths in Social and Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Law, Logic, Argumentation Theory, Pragmatism, Ethics, and Feminist Philosophy. We have a vibrant student culture, a yearly undergraduate conference, and an active philosophy club that has frequent philosophy discussions and maintains its own undergraduate philosophy room.
