The Child and Youth Worker (CYW/DSW) functions as a valuable member of the interdisciplinary team and provides care to children and youth with complex mental health issues. Solid knowledge and skills include but are not limited to: crisis management, establishment of effective therapeutic relationships, utilization of developmentally appropriate approaches, and implementation and evaluation of various therapeutic interventions. The CYW offers support, education, and coaching to clients and families.

This is a Self Employed Contract

Qualifications:

- Diploma in Child and Youth Worker, Child and Youth Care, Social Services Worker, Human Services
- Certification in Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behavour (UMAB) preferred
- A minimum of 2 years child and youth mental health
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and evaluating individual programming
- Demonstrated skill in effective crisis management
- Demonstrated knowledge in Child and youth mental health services
- Demonstrated knowledge in developmental psychology and psychopathology
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and establish therapeutic relationships with clients and team members
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning
- Evidence of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and flexibility
- Certification in First-Aid and CPR Level "C"

**Job Types**: Contract, Casual
Contract length: 4 months

**Salary**: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Willingness to travel:
