- The host/hostess is the first point of contact for guests when they enter the restaurant hence they are responsible for warmly greeting guests, making them feel welcomed, and assisting with any initial inquiries.
- The host/hostess is responsible for taking reservations over the phone, through online platforms, or in-person, and ensuring that tables are allocated efficiently to accommodate reservations while also managing walk-in guests.
- Host/hostess is responsible for noting allergies/dietary restrictions and celebrations and feeding the information in the reservation app.
- Hosts/hostesses determine the seating arrangements based on factors like party size, server availability, and table availability. They aim to distribute guests evenly across the dining area to optimize service flow.
- Host/Hostess is responsible for managing waitlist, keeping guest informed about the wait times and ensuring guests are seated as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- The host/hostess is responsible for seating guests, taking the water preference and communicating the same to the section holder.
- Responsible for ensuring table is reset in a timely manner.
- Responsible to pivot to avoid over seating in a section with the approval of the manager.
- Hosts/hostesses are responsible to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the host stand and surrounding areas. This includes keeping menus clean, organizing waiting areas, and ensuring that entryways are clear and inviting.
- Hosts/hostesses should be knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu, specials, and other offerings. They may need to provide information to guests about the menu, wait times, or restaurant policies.
- Responsible to check the menus before the start and end of their shift to ensure clean and accurate menus are present in the host stand.
- Host/Hostess are responsible to assist in any other operational tasks whenever necessary.
- Certification - Smart Serve if possible.
- Selection Criteria
- Should be cheerful, personable, hospitable and welcoming. Should be guest service oriented and possess good communication skills.
- Should have basic knowledge about operating Ipads and computers.
- Should be available to work weekends

Pay: From $20.70 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
