**About the Role**

We’re looking for a versatile and experienced media consultant to plan, buy and evaluate various media platforms and channels - including both digital and traditional - to achieve our clients’ brand and marketing goals.

You’ll be expected to research and develop media strategies leveraging predetermined budgets, as well as coordinate media buys, contracts and advertising requirements with vendors.

**This is a remote, freelance position and will be compensated on a project-by-project basis.**

**The Media Consultant is responsible for**:

- Developing and presenting effective media strategies and plans that align with the goals and expectations for each brand or campaign
- Independent research as needed to understand the media market, target audience, and competitors for each brand and campaign
- Negotiating and securing media contracts and placements with vendors across various media channels and platforms
- Developing and managing relationships with third-party media vendors. The Media Consultant will act as the main point of contact to all media vendors that we work with on any media buy.
- Collaborating with our Managing Director, Project Managers and Strategists on an ongoing basis:

- Regular reporting on campaign budgets, spends and in-market dates
- Keeping the Brandish team aware of what’s in-market on an ongoing basis and providing in-market examples of live creative where possible.
- Ensuring clear communication with regards to unique contract details, ad placement specs, delivery requirements (including delivery contacts, timelines etc.), and costs

**About You**

**Must-have qualifications**:
- 3+ years experience as a Media Buyer, Media Coordinator, or Media Strategist
- 1+ years experience independently developing media strategies
- Well-versed in all types of media, including both digital and traditional channels
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets of various sizes, and overseeing multiple campaigns in-market at once
- You have your own suite of ready-to-deploy tools and frameworks to support the planning and distribution of campaign materials
- Confidence in Slack and Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- 2-3 professional references
- 2-3 case studies
- **Must be located in Canada - Preference given to Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario**

**Education**:

- A degree or diploma in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or equivalent experience

**Personal skills and abilities**:

- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Proactive communication skills
- Ability to seamlessly collaborate with internal strategy teams to plan or scope further development of messaging or bidding strategies needed to support our targeting objectives.
- Familiar with how to interpret and leverage a customer profile, and you know the right questions to ask to fill any gaps you might see
- Confident in presenting research and recommendations internally for discussion
- You keep up with the latest media developments and technologies
