JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Program Management, the Supervisor Work Scheduling is accountable for the overall organizing, planning, scheduling, and recommendations of resource allocation to enable effective work completion for all Hydro Ottawa Limited (HOL) trades work, in order to optimize capital, operating and maintenance labour spending in terms of cost, benefit, and corresponding financial predictability.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES- Accountable for the overall development, implementation and management of sustainable work planning and scheduling processes in consultation with key stakeholders- Responsible for maintaining an annual operating work plan comprising of all available resources and the operating, maintenance and capital labour budgets/forecasts- Assist with development of annual capital and maintenance budgets- Work to analyze resourcing and workload to determine and recommend the best resource and work plan assignment with a staff of field technicians- Evaluate all pending HOL line work to organize, plan and assign in a safe, cost effective manner that protects the environment- Foster and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure critical work plan inputs and linkages are understood and maintained- Through development, tracking and communication of measurement-reporting tools, advise stakeholders as to labour spending and work completion to enable timely decision making and realignment of resources to changing priorities- Accountable to develop, implement, monitor and report on appropriate work plan metrics to maximize benefits to HOL- Assist in evaluating Request for Proposals (RFP) or Request for Qualifications (RFQ) with Distribution Engineering and Asset Management (DEAM)- Accept construction and maintenance packages from DEAM and ensure that they are complete and in compliance with standards established by Project Coach- Responsible for chairing/coordinating pre-construction and/or scheduling meetings with each operating area- Continuously review and implement resource requirements by assisting with the selection of staff, ensuring appropriate training is provided, delegating tasks and assignments, defining goals, communicating feedback on performance and ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety standards and other applicable laws and regulations- Supervise responses to emergency calls including participating in the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and On-Call programs- Monitor for completeness and accuracy project information from construction and obtain corrections from the construction staff as required- Input lessons learned as required- Perform other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- Professional Engineer licensed in the province of Ontario, or diploma in Engineering Technology, OACETT certified, or post-secondary education in Business Administration or related field- Experience in utility operations combined with formal training and demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for academic requirements.- Strong understanding of Hydro Ottawa’s electrical distribution system is essential- Strong computer skills; proficient in the use of office productivity and collaboration tools, preferably G Suite

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- English language skills essential, both oral and written; Bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset
