The Opportunity

The role of the Integrated Pest Management Specialist is to monitor the plants for disease or harmful pests and to respond to threats. Promote healthy plant growth and disease control by creating an appropriate Pest Management schedule catered the specific needs of different cultivars and growth stage. We achieve this goal by using a range of options from careful examination of plants and surrounding area, analyzing disease pressure profile, deploying preventative biological controls and responding to outbreaks.

**Responsibilities**:
- Scouts and inspects crop for evidence of disease or harmful pests- Monitors pest ecosystems to evaluate the presence of pest species, natural pest predators, and conditions that may contribute to pest problems- Utilize traps, allowable chemical and non-chemical methods to manage pests- Ensure compliance with Canopy Level and Site Specific IPM Program, including the use of beneficial insects, conventional pest control products, mechanical control, crop scouting- Ensure that bio inventory is up to par- Mixes, applies, and monitors various recommended chemicals, fertilizers, compounds, and baits to be used to treatment, elimination or control of specific conditions found- Requisitions and evaluates needed supplies and keeps records of chemicals- Scouting (weekly in both Veg and Flower for all Crops)-
- Product sampling (all fresh product samples collected for lab testing both internally and externally)- Quality evaluations (weekly evaluations on all Crops from Clone through to Harvest)-
- Lot logs (PCP data required for lot release - sale ability)- Auditing as director by the IPM Manager- Monitoring and making sure Biosecurity is being implemented and followed by cultivation team.- Diagnostics, Analysis reporting as directed by the IPM manager- Product label updates, SOP updates- Plant culls (IPM approval required for all culls - tracking CONQ)- Implement and maintain zonal boundaries for the facility and control of “C” status rooms - zonal path updated minimum weekly or if status change required.- Must be able to work a variety of shifts- Other duties as assigned

ExperienceDegree or equivalent experience is an asset- One-year previous experience in a greenhouse and/or indoor grows- Requires good written and verbal communication and computer skills- Experience using Microsoft excel, and other data platforms (ERP, SAP)- Knowledge of horticultural disease and pest identification
