We are looking for a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our warehouse operations team. Must be available - 9:30am-6:30pm ET Monday-Friday
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
The basic function of the Shipping and Receiving Associate is to take direction and assist the Distribution Warehouse Manager, as well as the Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Assistant, in the activities of warehouse operations so that all work is performed properly and efficiently, according to metrics set by Management.
- Prepare inbound packages for inventory receipt. Inspect received merchandise for damage or obvious defects and any vendor packaging errors (wrong item in vendor packaging). Identify product and quantities received to verify purchase order conformance.
- Put away received and labeled inventory into appropriate isle/bin location in the distribution center with 100% accuracy. Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Perform the daily cycle counts, investigate and document any discrepancies. Report counts and exceptions to Team Leader.
- Use the wireless scanner to retrieve inventory from aisle/bin locations within the warehouse to fill customer pick tickets. Ensure item retrieved is the item indicated on the screen with 100% accuracy. Where multiple quantities are on hand, pull the oldest item to ensure proper stock rotation. Initial all items picked. Notify manager or supervisor of any inventory exceptions (inventory shown when picking but not on shelf, spoiled/damaged inventory, etc.). Deposit retrieved inventory in packing/shipping area, print order label and packing list for separate review and packaging.
- Prepare picked inventory for shipment. Review order label with ship to address listed on packing list. Accurately count and compare quantity and product identification against packing list.
- Package inventory by hand, properly padding and packing product to prevent damage or loss during shipment. Should the shipping box contain voided of space, carefully cut the box down to minimize “dimensional weight” charges levied by some carriers (i.e.: UPS, FedEx, etc.).
- Process boxes for shipment using appropriate system (-Pathguide/Latitude LMS, UPS Connect, Fedex Ship manager; Webtools, etc.). Ensure all required shipping labels and documentation is printed and applied to the packages (HazMat labels, international shipping documents, etc.) Make sure oversize packages for shipments via ground or air are measured correctly for dimensional weight charges.
- Assist Team Leader and Shipping & Receiving Assistant with daily upkeep and cleanup of distribution center facilities.
- Assist management with the annual physical inventory count of all items in the distribution center.

- Ensure all government and company requirements relating to safety, health and environment are strictly followed. Notify Management immediately of any violations, concerns, near miss injuries. Report injuries immediately to your supervisor and/or Human Resources. Contact 911 if emergency assistance is needed.

**Qualifications**:
Required qualifications
- Three months to six months of similar or related experience
A high school education or equivalent
Good communication skills
The work requires very high level of physical effort such as long periods of standing, repetitively lifting lightweight objects with frequent bending or stooping, recurring lifting of heavy items of more than 50 pounds.
Accuracy and speed of execution are essential.
Must be available - 9:30am-6:30pm ET Monday-Friday
