As an Applied AI Researcher, you will have an individual contributor (IC) role driving strategic direction through collaboration with Data Science, Engineering and Product leaders across CIBC. You will play a crucial role in developing, improving, and exploring the capabilities of AI and Generative AI models.

How You will Succeed- Applied AI competence: Tackle difficult and meaningful projects in domains such as systems based on foundation models, multi-agent AI, emerging AI experiences and responsible AI. Your work will make a significant difference in advancing cutting-edge technology and providing practical solutions to real-world problems.-
- Science-driven innovation: Work with other researchers, engineers, and product groups. Represent CIBC in the research community, collaborating with faculty members in the relevant AI research functions.

Who You Are- You have advanced interdisciplinary knowledge in deep learning, natural language processing, data science, and big data- You understand theoretical AI concepts and stay current with the progress of AI. You have a record of impactful projects and publications in related fields or top-tier conferences and journals- You can demonstrate excellent coding skills and hands-on experience working with large foundation models and related frameworks and toolkits, preferably Python. You are familiar with LLMs such as the OpenAI Generative Pre-Trained Transformers models, LLAMA etc., model finetuning methods, prompting methods, and model evaluation.- You have a PhD in computer science, mathematics, or other related disciplines, and 3+ years in related research experience, or relevant experience.- You are motivated by collective success.
