**Job Description**:
**WHAT'S THE JOB?**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the general supervision of the Manager, the Baker is responsible for assisting in the preparation of baking of Tim Hortons products as well as working at the Tim Horton’s service station. The Baker is also responsible for handling customer payments, performing sanitation duties, and all functions related to the delivery of products or services, all while engaging guests with exceptional customer service.
- Preparation of bakery items (as per Tim Hortons standards) or beverage items for various stations at the unit utilizing various methods of preparation:
- Learn and become skilled at the Tim Hortons service counter
- Adhere to all required health and safety regulations and procedures while preparing food including:
- Using proper techniques when using the tools, supplies, and equipment provided (i.e. knives, ovens, cleaning materials)
- Wearing and correctly using proper personal protective equipment (i.e. non-slip shoes, cut resistant gloves)
- Monitoring equipment and notifying appropriate parties of malfunctioning or in need of repair equipment
- Complying with FoodSafe and/or ServeSafe standards including the recording of all time temperature sensitive food items
- Adhere to portioning of food item standards to ensure recipe yield meets quantity and budget expectations
- Comply with maintenance of food rotation in storage and ensure product storage and sales are stocked and maintained, taking care to use the First in, First Out (FIFO) system
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work area, including equipment, kitchen, and dining area. Clean dishes and cutlery manually or with the dishwasher
- Monitor fridge and freeze product inventory and submit order quantities
- Prepare all products as required, minimizing food waste through production of smaller quantities throughout the day; record prepared items and waste on production sheets as needed
- Receive and store inventory
- Receive and respond to product needs from the front of house
- Regularly take temperatures of the product, refrigerators, and freezers and record information on the Time & Temperature Logs
- Remain an ambassador of goodwill, ethics, and great client relations at all times on behalf of Dana Hospitality
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times, supporting an environment that strives to create exceptional culinary experiences
- Maintains speed of service standards
- Listens to customers (internal and external) and responds professionally to all questions and concerns, directing concerns to further levels of management as needed
- Adhere to shift timing, maintaining a consistent schedule while being punctual and providing advanced notification, where possible, if there is a change in availability
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
**WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?**
- Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Previous Tim Hortons Experience preferred.
- Completion of high school education
- 3 years experience in the food service industry
- ServeSafe and/or FoodSafe certified an asset
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English and/or in English and French as appropriate
- bility to clearly follow directions and produce desired results
- Able to function in a high paced environment, handling multiple tasks with speed and accuracy
- Ability to effectively use a computer and all related software, including POS equipment
- Knife skills an asset
Physical Requirements:
- Reach and lift between 0-10 pounds from floor to shoulder height
- Frequent standing and walking required
- Grip and hold utensils
