**About Us**:The Goulbourn Sea Hawks Swim Club is a renowned Not-for-Profit organization that has been shaping the future of competitive swimming since 2000.

Located in the west part of Ottawa, we cater to approximately 140 talented swimmers across six training groups, ranging from pre-competitive novices to high-performance competitors. Our club fosters a positive, family-friendly, and highly social environment, where swimmers are inspired to reach their full potential through a strong work ethic, self-discipline, and self-motivation. Our ultimate vision is to instill a lifelong love of swimming in our athletes.

**Position Overview**:As a key member of our coaching team, you will have the opportunity to work with multiple groups, supporting the development and growth of our talented athletes. Additionally, you may be required to coach at swim meets, providing invaluable guidance and motivation during competitive events.

We are seeking a passionate team player who is eager to learn, share knowledge, work diligently, and grow as a coach. You must possess a positive, enthusiastic, and respectful attitude, serving as a source of encouragement for all our athletes while nurturing their love for the sport and instilling essential sporting values. Creating a

positive and motivating learning environment is crucial, as you will play a pivotal role in teaching proper stroke techniques, racing skills, athlete development, and promoting physical and mental well-being to help our swimmers realize their full potential.

At the Goulbourn Sea Hawks Swim Club, we prioritize the development of our coaching staff and provide ample opportunities for professional growth and training.

**Responsibilities**:

- Availability to coach early mornings, late afternoons and weekends.
- Ability to perform some administrative duties during the day.
- Availability to attend swim meets as required, including out-of-town travel.
- Cultivate a positive, engaging, and fun learning environment that promotes the growth and retention of our athletes. Provide regular feedback and guidance to swimmers during training sessions.
- Serve as a positive role model for our club's youth, embodying the values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and sporting ethics within a safe and inclusive environment.
- Embrace a mindset of continuous learning and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Participate in regular staff meetings with the Head Coach and other coaches.
- Establish positive and professional relationships with swimmers, parents, and fellow coaches.
- Contribute to all team functions, including parties and events, as directed by the Head Coach.
- Adhere to all policies, including those set forth by GSH, Swim Ontario, Swim Canada, and any facilities where we participate.

**Qualifications**:

- Ideally, 1-3 years of experience in swimming coaching.
- Minimum NCCP Level 1 certification or willingness to obtain it promptly.
- NLS (National Lifeguard Service) certification and current CPR C and First Aid certifications are assets.
- Successful completion of appropriate background checks, including Criminal

Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A strong desire to learn and a commitment to professional development and personal growth.
- Must be a current resident of Canada and legally eligible to work in the country.

**Compensation**:Competitive salary commensurate with coaching and administrative duties, based on experience.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
